E&G German Real Estate was set up with the purpose to provide Asia-Pacific institutional investors with a regulated and transparent gateway to the German property market. After a careful selection process, the initial investor, a non-state pension fund, teamed up with the German E&G Group to establish a regulated, transparent and tax-efficient investment platform without using off-shore structures. The pension fund committed EUR 50m for the initial Portfolio.

E&G German Real Estate invests in a diversified portfolio of food retail and daily consumer goods property plus selected project developments in Germany.
Food retail & basic needs
70% of the portfolio will be invested in German property in the crisis-proof food retail and basic needs sector. The fund will place strategic investments in well-established locations with leading food retail tenants.
Project developments & opportunities
30% of the portfolio will be invested in selected project developments via mezzanine or equity finance. All developers are experienced project partners with excellent track records and good credit ratings. The general investment period ranges from 6 to 24 months.
